Safety light curtains, ultra compact

Scientific Technologies Inc (STI) has introduced Microsafe MC4700 Series safety light curtains. The MC4700 series features an ultra compact (1.02 x 1.1 in, 26 x 28 mm) transmitter and receiver that offer protected heights from 3.94 to 70.87 inches (100 to 1798 mm). Superior response time (as fast as 8 msec) and excellent resolution (to 12 mm) allow the MC4700 series to be mounted closer to the danger points of hazardous operation. The transmitter and receiver dimensions allow the MicroSafe to be mounted on small automatic assembly machines in other applications where a light curtain was previously too large. In line, quick disconnect cab allow mounting in crowded locations where a standard connector would not fit. The controller end of the cable is not terminated, which allows the length to be easily shortened in the field. For easy alignment, the MC4700 features STI"s patented individual beam indicator lights. Additional features include adjustable mounting brackets; exact channel select; floating blanking auxiliary outputs; restart interlock; machine test signal; MPCE monitoring; two-digit display diagnostic, two PNP safety outputs; and simple 3 box design. Options include a DeviceNet interface and low ESD models.
