Scientific Technologies Inc now offers its Popular MiniSafe 4300 Safety Light Curtain with Floating Blanking as a standard feature. Floating blanking allows users to disable up to two beams at any location in the sensing field, which allows parts being manufactured to travel through the sensing, field of the light curtain. Automobile wiper arm assembly is just one of the numerous application possibilities for the MiniSafe 4300 with floating blanking. For example, these machines assemble tubular pieces that operate car wipers. The operator places the parts to be joined in a fixture and presses a button to begin the cycle. At the point where the two pieces are riveted together, a hazard is created. Using the MS 4300 with I-beam floating blanking enabled, the benefits of close mounting are preserved while still allowing for the presence of the parts being assembled. The MS 4300 has slender housings for a designed-in appearance, and its compact size (1.25 x 1.25 inch, 32 x 32 mm) makes it suitable for machinery where space is at a premium.
