The Martin Walter push- pull transducer, marketed in India by Imeco Cleaning & Welding Equipment, Pune, represents a new method of transmitting ultrasonic energy to liquid media. Consisting of a solid rod of titanium, excited at both ends by high output ultrasonic converters, the push pull system opens up new opportunities for use in numerous situations. The ultrasonic converters mounted at both ends of the resonator rod excite the resonator at the points of connection, thereby inducing longitudinal oscillations in the resonator. Radial oscillations are induced at half- wavelength intervals as a function of the resonating length of the resonator, leading in turn to the all- round radiation of ultrasonic energy from the resonator. Features: Soild-type resonator guarantees exceptionally prolonged service life Use of special titanium ensures exceptionally high degree of efficiency (>97%). This means lower power consumption and consequent cost savings All-round radiation of ultrasonic energy from resonator ensures exceptionally uniform sonic field Minimum space required permitting straightforward adaptation of existing equipment. Modular design facilitates repairs by comparison with conventional immersible transducers Simple, rapid installation Automatic identification by generator if transducer is exposed to dry running in the event of a shortage of cleaning fluid. No additional wiring required. Applications: Ultrasonic cleaning Environmental applications (waste treatment) Sonochemistry (support for chemical processes) Emulsifying, dispersing Feasibility of use under partial vacuum. This is not possible with conventional immersible transducers with degree of reliability. Mounting options: The push-pull transducer can be connected by means of a flexible stainless stell tube, supplied as standard and available in various lengths. It is connected to the ultrasound generator by way of a special high-frequency cable and a terminal box, which is also supplied. Direct installation can be made through the side of the tank. In this case, the connecting tuble is omitted. The converter to which the power supply is connected is led directly through the side of the tank by way of a threaded socket and seal.
