MOISTURE SENSORS FOR ON-LINE PRODUCTION

Earth Tekniks offers Moisture Sensors for on-line production, MoistTech IR3000 Series, from Sensortech International. The IR 3000 Series is a focus on improved measurement and reliability. Features: non-contact, instantaneous measurement; advanced near infrared (NIR); technology with new blue eye-allows user to control parameters at the process line using a PDA (no hard-wired interface needed); IR absorption curves are well defined for many different materials 25 times more processing power than conventional sensors using a 16-bit A/D processor and surface mount technology; wavelength selection for each application; customised filter selection and pre-calibration; non-volatile data storage in flash so that there is no need for batteries or battery backups; remote display and advanced software for data presentation; advanced digital filtering for noise-free signal; no ambient light sensitivity; very low energy usage allowing the sensor to run several degrees lower than conventional sensors thus improving reliability - total wattage (20 watts); non-contact temperature sensor; and digital diagnostics, which monitor critical components such as, light source, motor, detector, etc. The IR 3000 Series has the following models: 827 - standard gauge; 828 - tobacco gauge; and 838 - laboratory gauge. Specifications: sensor performance - accuracy depends on application, sampling, product type, typical ±0.1% as low as ±0.01%, tobacco ±0.1%, Strip, Stem and Whole Leaf Tobacco ±0.3%; ambient light sensitivity - none (no other NIR gauge can match it); stability - excellent, ±0.05%/yr or less; height sensitivity - 10-40 cm (6-16"); and lamp MTBF and motor MTBF -lifetime guarantee.
