Area Sensor (Light Curtain)

Autonics Automation India Pvt Ltd offers Area Sensors, BW series, with 12 msec response time and IP65 protection. These light curtains are used to detect the presence of any object between the emitter and receiver. A variety of 22 types of area sensors are available. A beam to a beam distance of 20/40 mm is available. Max sensing range of 7 mtr is possible in this product. Different field heights of 120 mm to 940 mm are available in this series. One of the main features of this product is the self-diagnosis function. It will monitor the ambient light, emitter/receiver light circuit and output circuit. The number of beams depends on the length of the area sensor. 4 to 48 numbers of beams are available. The unit will work with 12-24 V DC power and will provide NPN/PNP open collector output of max 100 ma. The units are Light On mode type. Short circuit protection is there for this sensor. The beam is invisible modulated infrared, so immune to a great degree of the sun light as well as the incandescent lamps. Two area sensors can be put in parallel in the master/slave mode. In that case the interference will be avoided. The housing of this sensor is aluminium with scratch proof front side. The product is a sleek one compared to the similar makes available in the market, but with low price. The installation of this unit is simple as there are leds, which will guide one for an easy trouble shooting & installation. A slim plastic version, BWP series, also is available with 13 mm width, with fast response speed of 6 msec and IP40 rating. Typical application is in the detection of the hand and finger where the fail safe functionality is not required. Another application is in conveyors where it is required to detect the passing object and do the next sequence of action. To confirm the ejection of moulded resin products in moulding machine, as a belt rupture sensor in steel and mining industry, to check the passage of the TV/Computer cathode ray tubes, etc. This product is CE marked.
