Suhner India Pvt Ltd (Automation Expert) offers Low Cost Automatio ideas, based on the concept ‘Time is Money’, and consistently applied for 50 years. Suhner’s program for drilling, tapping and milling components was guided by this principle and it was consistently implemented over the last 50 years and thus helping to save money. In early years, starting 1920, the company developed the first simple flexible shaft driven drilling unit, which was very universal and adaptable in many different applications. The inception of the Suhner Automation expert product line was the year 1965, when a completely new product portfolio was introduced to the market. The new drilling units included a pneumatic feed system and a hydraulic brake cylinder for feed control which allowed to optimise machining operations, particularly cycle times for mass produced parts manufacturing. The entire Suhner program was designed on a modular platform and then complemented with accessories and different drive systems. This concept enabled customers to design and build chip making equipment made with standard machine components. Thanks to simultaneous operations of several machining units at the same time, cycle time reductions were achieved to fractions when compared to previous methods. This kind of automation is called ‘Low Cost Automation’ (LCA), which can also be interpreted as cost effective automation. Even today, influenced by the modular LCA concept, high volume parts manufacturing in many industries is done on linear or rotary transfer machines. Over the years, application requirements for components have been steadily rising. Suhner products have grown with all the increased demands in quality and performance and help to satisfy an existing and ever expanding customer base, worldwide for 50 years.
