Cylinder, Pneumatic Rotating Type

GMT pneumatic rotating cylinder actuates the gripping jaws of a power-operated chuck. The chuck is mounted on the spindle nose of the lathe. The cylinder is mounted on the rear side of the spindle. Compressed air under pressure is fed on to a piston through a stationary distributor. The piston moves the drawbar, or the rod attached to it, axially. This axial movement can be utilised for operating the chuck or the fixtures. The body of the GMT pneumatic cylinder is made of aluminium alloy of high quali- ty, is light, and is specially treated to take large loads. The piston is made from medium carbon steel and toughened. The distributor housing of the pneumatic cylinder is made from aluminium alloy. The distributor shaft rotates inside a bronze bush, which is press fitted. Lubrication is provided by a grease lubricator which is for lubricating the shaft of the distributor and also to act as a seal to prevent air leakage. These cylinders are available in four different sizes.
