Power Transformers

Skipper Electricals (India) an ISO 9001: 2008 certified company, manufactures Power Transformers from 2 MVA to 60 MVA, up to 161 kV, with on-load tap changers. The windings form the most vital part of the transformer. Highly sophisticated design techniques are applied for electrical, machinery or set up and thermal stability. Helical and continuous disc type with interleaved windings are made as they provide maximum strength, short circuit withstand capabilities and even distribution of impulse voltage. In case of multiple radial wires continuous transpositions are done to eliminate interstrand circulating currents. The coils are pressed before core-coil assembly to ensure proper trouble free service. Clamping rings are placed on top and bottom of the winding to ensure high axial short circuit withstands capability to the transformer. To reduce losses and to control temperature, continuously transposed conductors with better insulation are used to give a high quality transformers in respect of mechanical, electrical and thermal withstand capabilities transformers. Testing: each transformer is subjected to all routine tests to ensure compliance with standard/customers’ specifications. All accessories are thoroughly checked for the functional compliance prior to the dispatch) to produce excellent quality products. Each and every product is subjected to pass through stringent in-house testing under relevant IEC/BS standards to qualify for delivery/supply. The products are also type tested at CPRI/ERDA/ASTA, national and international test labs.
