Telawne Power Equipments offers a Dry Type (Varnish Impregnated) Transformer. VPI dry type transformer is an air cooled transformer, using the most advanced technology in electrical distribution system. VPI transformers are designed and tested as per IS 2026/IS 11171 for Indian standards and IEC 726, BS 7806 and ANSI C57-12 for International standards. Since varnish impregnated-vacuum processed dry type transformers are the safest and environmental friendly equipments with proven technology, these are suitable for all types of electrical distribution systems, most commonly used in high rise building, oil and gas plants, hospitals, populated areas and all fire prone areas. The company has successfully type tested 630 kVA, 11 kV/433 V varnish impregnated dry type transformers at Electrical Research & Development Association for short circuit and lightning impulse voltage withstand test. Core building: high quality, non-ageing, cold rolled, grain oriented, high permeability silicon steel, precision cut to close tolerances using modern equipment to eliminate burrs and minimize losses, step lap, mitre cut, stepped core construction for optimum energy efficiency, core assembly is sealed in adhesive to prevent the ingress of moisture. HV and LV winding: windings are electrically balanced and designed so as to minimise axial short circuit forces; coils are layer (barrel) or disc wound to suit the voltage class; Class H, Nomex aramid paper (220?C temperature resistant) is used to insulate the conductor; Class F, silicone-coated fibre glass (180?C temperature resistant) tubes, ducts, tapes, blocks, etc., are used within. Vacuum and varnish impregnation process: individual coils are placed in a chamber and vacuum is drawn to one full atmosphere, polystermide resin/silicone varnish is forced in the vacuum chamber, pressure is applied to ensure that all the voids are filled up with resin, and all coils are oven cured for 24 hours.
