Cast Resin (Dry Type) Transformers

Telawne Power Equipments offers, in view of increasing market requirements, has introduced Cast Resin Dry Type Transformers. These are manufactured in compliance with IS 2026, IS 11171, IEC 60076-11 standards (or others on request). The core is made of cold rolled oriented grain steel sheet with low specific loss, step-lap, assembled at interleaved joints, with high care. It is calculated to obtain the minimum residual flux, reduced inrush current, low noise, and iron loss. The precise assembling and correct tightening guarantee a uniform stiffness and prevent vibrations so determining the optimal characteristic of the core itself. The core is insulated on both sides of each lamination and protected against corrosion by a resin coating and grounded in frame. Resin cast composable bases and supports of high resistance are used to keep fasten in their seats primary and secondary coils. The low voltage winding are made with insulation material in Class H this technology assures a high resistance to electro dynamic efforts. The coils are than impregnated with polymerised resins in the oven to guarantee high protection against pollution. The high/medium voltage winding are made in sub coils connected in series, the tapping are designed symmetrically, in order to avoid unbalance of amp/turn. The casting of these windings, fundamental phase in the whole production system, is obtained with the combined action of vacuum and temperature. The casting method makes it possible to assure void-free epoxy penetration of both the inner layer and turn-to-turn insulation. The frame consists of upper and lower steel channels, which hold the core and coil together. To protect against corrosion all steel parts are coated with epoxy paint. Various enclosures offering different degrees of protection are available. In addition to the enclosures the customers can have external MV and LV cable boxes, internal gland plates, or have the LV bus bars brought out to a coupling piece that LV distribution bus bars can be directly connected to.
