Emergency Stop Relays

Pilz GmbH & Co Germany, pioneers in safety systems and relays, manufactures emergency stop relays. Every machine must be fitted with some control to bring it to a complete stop safely, in an emergency. Where machinery has complex movements or high inertia, the stop function must not cause damage to the machine or create a dangerous situation. This means it is vital to con- sider the way in which the machine is brought to a safe condi- tion. The relay, PNOZ XM1, is a consultative device for emergency stopping. Master unit for the realy, plus modular safety system are in accordance with VDE 0113, EN 422, EN 201 and IEC 204-1. Salient features: 2 input circuits per unit, up to 20 input circuits can be added using input modules; monitored or automatic reset can be selected; simultaneous monitoring; selectable, 2 semiconductor outputs; diagnostic interface, triple channel operation; LED status indicator; and, 5 pulsed outputs. Operating modes are single channel operation, dual channel operation, triple channel operation, automatic reset, manual reset, and, monitored manual reset.
