Capacitor Cubicles

Madhav Capacitors is a manufacturer of a range of capacitors – a single stop shop for complete capacitors package including erection and commissioning. It also offers capacitor cubicles. Function: to improve the power factor of medium and large sized motors with capacitors directly connected across motor terminals; to reduce starting currents slightly; and to improve terminal voltage across motor terminals. Applications: motor connected to steady loads like water pumps, air compressor, etc. Ratings: single step capacitor rating (kVAR) not to exceed 90% of the no load kVAR of motor. Protection and metering: HRC fuses at motor terminals, On-Off isolator for maintenance and repairs (not for daily operations), series reactor – for limiting capacitor in rush current in case of – a substation with large MVA SC capacity, a number of pumps operating across a bus, CBCT relay and neutral current relay to detect phase current unbalance. Standards: capacitor – BIS-13925, IEC-60871; HRC fuses – IEC – 60282–2; isolator – BIS – 9921; CBCT – BIS-2705; and relays – BIS-3231.
