Intelligent Ethernet network module for Fieldpoint

National Instruments offers an intelligent Ethernet network module for FieldPoint. A single FP-20xx network module manages a node of up to nine FieldPoint I/O modules, consisting of any analogue and discrete I/O in the fieldpoint product line, including dual-channel modules and terminal bases. The resulting FP-20xx-based node automatically negotiates for a 10 BaseT or 100 BaseTX Ethernet connection for network communication. Each FP-20xx module also includes a RS-232 serial port one can use to communicate with other serial devices in the system, including serial FieldPoint systems and serial radio modems. The FP-2000 and FP-2010 differ in the amount of non-volatile flash memory available, for data and application storage. The FP-2000 has 3 MB of flash memory available, while the FP-2010 has 11 MB, otherwise, the FP-20xx modules are the same in functionality and specifications. With optional code, the FP-20xx modules can execute one simple PID loop up to 370 Hz, or 8 PID loops (two 8-channel I/O modules) up to 300 Hz, with the loop rates dependent on Labview execution priority settings.
