Digital readouts from Fagor Automation S Coop are used in lathes for controlling constant surface speed. The Fagor DRO model NV300TS calculates and automatically varies the spindle turning speed depending on the radius of the X-axis while turning. This helps in achieving perfect finish. Part programming of the digital readout is up to 100 blocks to define the machining operations, cycles, positioning and tool changes. Spindle of the lathe can be oriented by directly entering the desired angle. This device enables direct radius/diameter reading and enhances tool life with a saving of 20-30 per cent in machining time.
