Phillips Opens Expertise Centre in Pune to Boost Manufacturing Innovation

Phillips Machine Tools has inaugurated the Phillips Manufacturing Expertise Centre in Chakan, Pune, marking a major step towards advancing India’s manufacturing capabilities. The centre was inaugurated by Basavraj P. Kalyani, Executive Director, Bharat Forge Ltd, and Alan Phillips, President, Phillips Corporation, USA.

Established to accelerate India’s transition to advanced, smart, and sustainable manufacturing, the Chakan facility will serve as a hub for innovation, learning, and collaboration among manufacturers, technology partners, and academia.

The centre showcases Phillips’ end-to-end manufacturing capabilities, offering live demonstrations of CNC machines, automation systems, and next-generation additive 3D printing technologies such as SLA, SLS, FFF, DMLS, and hybrid systems. It also provides a platform for hands-on training and application development to help bridge the industry’s skill and technology gap.

With over six decades of legacy, Phillips Machine Tools continues to be a trusted partner across sectors including aerospace, automotive, energy, medical devices, and precision engineering. The new facility reinforces its commitment to empowering Indian manufacturers with world-class technology, expertise, and support.

The Phillips Manufacturing Expertise Centre aims to serve as a collaborative ecosystem where customers, partners, and innovators jointly design and deliver the future of Indian manufacturing.
