Ul-Approved Single-Channel Analogue To Plc Interface Modules

Calex Mfg Co, Inc, announces it has recently achieved recognition of its 8500 Series product line under UL508 and UL1604 and their Canadian counterpart ULC. UL508 recognises the products to meet UL"s Industrial Controls Standards, while UL1604 certifies the 8500 Series as NonIncentive Electrical Equipment for use in Class I, Division 2, Hazardous locations. The 8000 Series I/O modules are DC powered and are designed to interface with 24 V DC logic inputs of microPLCs and PLCS. The input modules include thermocouple, RTD, straingauge, 4-20 mA and 0- 10 V units. The output modules take a pulse/frequency from the PLC and provide an analogue output signal (mA, V DC). This allows for a complete process and control loop to be contained within flexible, cost effective and compact designs. These units are ideally suited for discrete automation and control applications requiring a low analogue I/O count including: process control, machine control, industrial appliances, etc. The modules are housed in a plastic case with a built-in U-foot for mounting on standard DIN rails. The case dimensions, excluding U-foot, are 1.65" H x 1.06" W x 3.78" L. Connections are made to screw clamp terminals that accept wires sizes from 22 to 16 AWG.
