Soft Starters

Jeltron offers Soft Starter, LC2. This is a solid-state low cost starter with a soft start control for standard three-phase AC squirrel cage induction motors. Designed for use in series with an isolating contactor, it provides adjustable starting torque and stepless acceleration. This method of starting provides smooth, stepless, soft start control, which greatly reduces the wear on power transmission components and eliminates product breakage and spillage. Soft starting reduces motor inrush current by as much as 70%, which can eliminate light dimming, power disturbances and voltage transients within the power distribution system. This is a low cost/high performance soft start control for those applications, where it is difficult to justify the increased cost of additional features offered on more expensive models. The LC2 is offered as a compact, open frame configuration that is ideally suited for the panel builder and OEM. Units are also supplied in custom enclosures.
