Tracking Index Test Set

Lumetron CTI 01 comparative tracking index test set from Lumetronics is designed to perform tests specified in many standards where resistance to tracking in insulating parts is to be established. It cap test insulating materials used in domestic electrical appliances, luminaires, motors and other AC mains operated equipments and complies with the requirements of various Indian and International Standard specifications. The test specimen is subjected to voltage variable from 100 to 600 V by means of two brass electrodes exerting I N load. Platinum electrodes are optional. A special voltage current tracking system ensures short circuit current is limited to I A irrespective of the output voltage. Both are displayed on digital panel meters and current trip value can be calibrated and preset. The specimen platform and electrodes are adjustable to allow alignment. Between the electrodes drops of ammonium chloride salt solution are dropped. The equipment uses a special electronically controlled pump system keeping in view the strict drop requirements The solution is fed through a nozzle to produce drops of controlled volume, at 30 seconds intervals. The number of drops allowed to fall are preset by a digital drop counter. A drop sensed by a sensor stops the pump until the next timing signal. The pump can be primed to remove initial electrolyte having higher concentration. Automatic shutdown is achieved when the tracking current exceeds the preset value registering a 'Fail'. After the preset drops and no breakdown, it will revert to standby and indicate a 'Pass'. An exhaust fan removes fumes and acrylic front cover ensures safety and creates a draught free surrounding. It has minimum of user controls/adjustments and the test proceeds automatically once started. The unit is supplied complete with connection cables, brass electrodes, spare fuses, electrolyte solution, user's manual, 1 year warranty and traceable calibration repon.
