Integrating Sphere
Lumetronics, engaged in manufacturing and supplying integrating spheres for over 25 years, now offers a low cost, import substitute – Integrating Sphere. The Lumetron IP-150 integrating sphere is a six inch diameter sphere specially developed for spectrophotometer applications. The sphere is available for OEM applications. It is made out of aluminium, with the two hemispherical halves being held together with fasteners. Common portgeometries such as d/8 or d/0 are available, but any other special port requirements can be provided. Standard ports included are sample port, lamp inlet port, output port, SCI/SCE port, and fibre optic ports. The sample port has a sharp knife-edge, to ensure high performance. A good internal coating is essential for integrating spheres, and the IP-Series spheres are coated with a primer, base coat paint and finished with special Lumetron SP-98 water based BaSO4 reflectance coating. Internal baffles are used to prevent the sensor from viewing the sample port and lamp inlet port directly. The external surface of the sphere is power coated in black. Special care and precautions are taken to ensure that the sphere base material (aluminium) does not get oxidised or affected by the alkaline BaSO4. Other sizes, from 50 mm (2 inch) onwards can also be developed for OEM requirements.
