Retrofitting of Universal Testing machines

Microprocessor based and programmable Universal Testing Machines are manufactured by Kalpak Instruments & Controls in three models: KIC-100, KIC-1000 and KIC10 T for 100 Kgf, 1000 Kgf and 10 tonnes respectively. These have been used widely for a range of critical applications and have met the user expectations successfully. As an extension to the manufacture of UTMs, the company also undertakes retrofitting of mechanical universal testing machines and convert them to elegant, state of the art microprocessor based accurate, intelligent and user-friendly universal testing machines with the life expectancy of a new machine while retaining the existing mechanical structure. It also provides the user to incorporate their extended test requirements - not covered by the present machine due to its limitations in technology or capacity. The retrofit upgrades the machine capability and features and thus provides a cost effective solution. The retrofit can be equipped with precision load cells, digital length encoder and precision variable speed servo drive/stepper drive mechanism to take the tests with higher accuracy and resolution. The unit has many advantages over conventional mechanical testers such as the digital display of load and length values and fully automatic testing. The retrofitted universal testing machine can be used for multiple parameters testing for tensile, compression, flexure, extraction, peel, adhesion, tear, bending and shear. The UTM can be equipped with the latest custom-built Windows based software for test result processing and analysis.
