Leak Testing Of HEPA Filters

This is carried out to verify that the filters are not faulty or damaged, that they have been installed properly, that there are no leaks in the mounting frame and the system contains no by pass of the filter. The aerosol challenge test is used to ensure their integrity and efficiency. Model TDA 2G digital portable aerosol photometer from ATI Air Techniques Inc, USA, is the industry standard for on site leak testing of HEPA filters and negative pressure filtration units. This microprocessor controlled, forward light scattering linear photometer has a digital display which shows leakage from .0001% to 100%. It has 3 pre-programmed reference values for DOP, PAO or any other aerosol. An audible alarm sounds when the adjustable set point is exceeded. The auto zero automatically establishes zero when sampling airflow through the internal reference ULPA. Filter. The auto 100% automatically establishes upstream concentrations at 100%. The built in vacuum pump has a true flow rate of 1 cfm.
