The L S Starrett Company offers AccuBore, the new Series 781 bore gauges that give highly accurate bore readings quickly and conveniently. AccuBore is a high-quality, trigger-activated, three point contact bore gauging system, allowing single hand operation for increased speed, control and convenience. The user simply squeezes the trigger, inserts the gauge into the hole and releases the trigger to instantly obtain a reading from the large, easy-to-read digital display. The gauge features an indi-cator that swivels and rotates, allowing for both right and left hand viewing use and making it more flexible for a variety of applications. The indicator also has a set of "go/no go" lights above the readout display. This LED meter quickly indicates whether a bore measurement is within a preset tolerance window. The gauge has mechanically driven, parallel anvils which extend simultaneously, unlike models with spring-driven contacts which are subject to pressure variations. This consistent pressure results in more accurate readings and provides true alignment to the axis of the bore. The gage achieves linear accuracy of up to 0.00012" (0.003 mm) and, with a large variety of anvils avail-able, is capable of measuring from 0.080" (2 mm) to 12" (300 mm). The resolution can be switched from 0.0005" (0.01 mm) to 0.00005" (0.001 mm) and digital readings can be converted between inch and metric with the push of a button. In addition, it also features preset and preset recall functions as well as hold, max/min, and zeroing capabilities.
