Portable Moisture Meter

Textest AG, a Switzerland based manufacturer of testing instruments for technical textiles, has introduced a Portable Moisture Meter. A handy, one hand operation instrument unlike others, the display is a linear of LED’s over a transparent drum. The drum also carries the scales for different materials and blends. For operation, the appropriate scale is to be positioned over the LED array and moisture regain of the test specimen is directly indicated on the scale by the illuminated moving indicator of the LED array.

No calibration is required, thanks to the sophisticated electronics incorporated by Textest AG. This instrument offers an alternative to the time consuming and cumbersome over conditioning method. It comes with bale probe of 130 mm fibres in bales, cup probe for small fibres, fibre, etc. Short needle probe for cops, cheese and warp beams. Flat probe for fabrics.

There are 2 more probes:

• Long needle probe for soft cheese and roving bobbins
• Roving probe for measurement on moving fabrics

Different materials like cotton, wool, rayon, jute, polyester, polyamide, polyacrylic, polyacrylonitrile and their blends can be tested using this portable handy electronic moisture meter.
