Customers in India requested Keisokki to develop such an instrument which will give them information on index as well as the number of hairs and so after years of hard work LST V has been developed which gives information on number of hairs as well as the hairiness index.

Every manufacturer is giving some hairiness value but no one is able to clear­ly identify the source of hairiness with their hairiness testers. Keisokki introduced its Laserspot as a solution to spinners troubled by hairiness. Laserspot is patented technology.

Applying the hairiness results to improve your process: Since Keisokki's LST is giving hairiness index & also information on diameter problem as well as their mass variation diagrams one can trace out easily if the problem is truly due to hairiness or due to variations in diameter. For eg, hairiness index is very low but the CV% & U% of the diameter are very high. This clearly explains the problem is in spinning process and not with hairi­ness. Hence LST's results can be used to improve the process as LST is not merely giving a number.

Effective detection of hairiness problem: For eg, if the yarn has some hairs which are turned on the yarn or has loops, which can result in hairiness in the later process even then this instrument will reflect the same immediately by the vast change in the diameter of the yarn. With the help of LST one can predict if the hairiness is due to ring problem, lifting problem, traverse problem, etc. While conducting tests using LST for several Indian spinners it was observed in that they did not have hairiness problem at all but majority of them had diametric variations in their yarn.
