Battery Discharge Indicators

A Battery Discharge Indicator with lifting locker is the cheapest insurance any forklift owner / operator can purchase to prevent destructive discharging of the battery. The module (which is to be fitted on the vehicle) serves to indicate to the vehicle operator / floor supervisor that the battery requires to be re charged. The battery discharge indicator also incorporates a relay that NO and NC contacts are brought out to provide an interlock with the lift motor. This enables the lift motor drive to be locked out when the battery is discharge to below 80% of its capacity. The forklift lead acid battery takes a lot of mistreatment during heavy loading which results in to severe discharging of the battery. In order to maintain long life and peak performance, there are few general preventative measures to be taken. Preventing the battery from being discharged below its working level not only protects the battery but also the major current carrying components on the forklift.
