Glass Level Measurement & Control System

Absolute Instrumentation has developed an import substitute glass level measurement and control system with indigenous raw material and knowhow. This system consists of glass level measurement for continuously recording the level of molten glass by a gauging unit to detect the changes in the glass level. These changes are transmitted to a recording unit and raw material input feeder. When the unit is in operation the electrode essentially made of platinum, sheathed inside a refractory tube supported by the vertical shaft of the gauging unit is lowered by motor till the tip comes in contact with the molten glass and a control is energized stopping the motor. Resistance of a toropot fixed in the gauging unit is measured during this period and is recorded. After a preset time, gauge is reversed raising the electrode. Electrode rises till preset time, which resets the circuit and it is lowered again to repeat the cycle. Accurate measurement with variation of (1mm with a closed loop control circuit helps in maintaining consistency in production and GOB weight. This helps in substantial saving in glass material and at the same time giving minimum rejection and uniformity in the moulded glass articles.
