Rope-making machine

Pyramid Industries offers a rope-making machine, Model PRS 1016. This is suitable for making 3 strand ropes from all types of synthetics and natural fibers and it produces ropes from 10 mm to 16 mm diameter rope size. The machine is fed directly by extrusion bobbins, that is to say by untwist yarn and or by pre twisted, or plied yarn from a ply yarn machine or it can also use yarn from the in flow ply yarn machine. Extrusion standard bobbin size is dia 250 mm x 305 mm length. The machine frame is particularly strong and sturdy to sustain high-speed flyer rotation. The safety guards are also of multiple uses and are easy to handle. A very fine sensitive friction device is used for regulation of take up tension. Rolling type traverse mechanism is used for uniform winding. Changing spur gears can vary rope lay length from 26 mm to 60 mm. Variation of pre twisting ratio can be obtained by means of changing timing pulley in three stages - minimum 1.8 to maximum 2.2 times. The pay off and take-up sections are driven by a 15 HP DC motor (11.2 kW). Synchronous drive between the two pay off and take up section is by heavy-duty universal joint coupling.
