Bag Slitting & Powder Feeding Equipment

Amis Engineers has developed special purpose equipment for slitting the powder bags on bottom through a motorised slitting saw and thereby feeding the powder into the reactor. This equipment is a must for units using powders, which are dangerous when they come in contact with the human skin or when inhaled. The system is fully automatic, PLC controlled and pneumatically operated and the main components are: the fabricated structure duly powder coated with 2 toughened glass doors and 3 toughened glass fixed windows for viewing operation; a 3-phase motor driving the SS 316 slitting saw directly at 3000 RPM; and four pneumatic cylinders have been used for – closing the bag inlet door, clamping the bag, pulling the bag over slitting saw and bottom door for empty bag disposal. The paper laminated bag is fed manually into the system through inlet door. The operator then presses one button and automatic sequence starts. First the inlet door closes pneumatically giving signal to clamp the bag and then the slitting saw motor starts. After a little delay the motor picks up full speed and then the bag hanging on trolley is pulled over the slitting saw by a pneumatic cylinder. Once the bag is slit and powder is discharged to the hoper below, the empty bag is discharged to a trolley in the basement through a pneumatically operated door. The bag carrying trolley then returns to original starting position and the system is ready to take up next bag for slitting and discharging.
