Thread Mills, Threadmaster

Seco has announced new additions to its Threadmaster™ family of Thread Mills, bringing the benefits of its line of thread mills to a larger and more diverse range of applications. The new products include solutions for hardened materials up to 60 HRC, materials with tensile strength over 900 N/mm², small holes and complete drilling, chamfering and thread milling in a single operation. Drilling Threadmaster, or DTM, features a unique design that drills, chamfers and mills a threaded hole in one operation. Currently available for applications in cast iron and aluminium, the new tool automatically chamfers the entry point when it reaches the bottom of the hole, then mills threads via helical interpolation. DTM’s multi-function capabilities save time and money by reducing tooling inventory and minimising tool changes. DTM is available in M4 to M16, in UNC/F and Whitworth profiles. Threadmaster Mini provides thread milling for small holes in hard materials, as are commonly found in applications ranging from dental implants to aerospace components. Provided for thread dimensions from M1 x 0.25 to M2.5 x 0.45, Threadmaster Mini excels in materials with hardness between 45 HRC and 60 HRC. For materials with tensile strength over 900 N/ mm², Threadmaster-900 provides an ideal solution and is available in M4 to M16. Additionally, Threadmaster-H was developed specifically for hardened steels of up to 60 HRC. With the most recent additions, the Threadmaster family now covers M1 x 0.25 to M20 x 2.5, as well as UN/C, W and NPT/F threads.
