Plano Milling Conversion

Shenoy Engineering Pvt Ltd undertakes conversion of old Plano Millers to new. It is pitiable to see huge, old planers being discarded. With little investment, these condemned planers can be revived into incredible, highly productive plano millers. The company takes pride in being instrumental in giving new lease of life to more than 2000 old planers. It also buys old planing machines in whatever condition they are available. These machines are brought to the company’s works where the sliding surfaces are scraped for a good blue-matching and worn out rotating parts like bearings, lead screws, box nut, etc., are replaced. After assembly, geometrical alignment and testing to the test-chart parameters, the old plano millers are converted into new by retrofitting milling heads and feed system package. As plano millers, these condemned planers excel in their performance. The dead-slow single point cutting is replaced by high speed, multi-point cutting by carbide cutters. The company offers such converted plano millers for sale in ready-for use condition. Enquiries are solicited for converted plano millers. Taking a step ahead, it has also started offering custom-built plano millers, using the structurals of the old planing machines.

5 HP, 10 HP & 20 HP all geared Plano milling heads are offered with 2 variants – (1) Regular Milling head with conventional, cylindrical quill for setting depth of cut & (2) Ram type Milling head with self-powered vertical stroke of 350 mm or more, suitable for drilling & boring, apart from milling. Ram head adds Plano milling, drilling, boring, facing capabilities to a planing machine. In combination with DRO for axes movement, ram type milling head can help the converted Plano miller to perform coordinate machining capabilities like pitch drilling, boring etc accurately. Detachable right angle milling attachment permits ram to machine the side walls inside the deep, inaccessible interiors of a work piece. A small investment on a ram type milling head will bring home a whole lot of amazing and multipurpose linear machining capabilities to the planer, without the need of additional space and man power. Optional accessories for milling heads are Mechanically Tilting Back Plate for setting the spindle axis ±45? for taper machining & Right Angle Attachment for machining the 4 sides of a rectangular plate. A common VFD based 3 axes feed system package is offered for Table Movement, Cross Axis Movement & Vertical Axis movement with individual axis feed motors & gear box. Controls also include digital display, showing axes movement in mm per minute.
