Advantages: this type of feed are that feed rates can be varied from very slow to very high and the feed system can be programmed to give rapid approach of job to cutter; fixed cutting rate for machinery; rapid return of table to original position & stop automatically. The next cycle can be started thereafter by switching on the machine. The machines are available in two sizes and two models, viz., horizontal and vertical.
