Milling machine

Kasthuri Machine Builders manufactures a milling machine, Model KMT 0.5. This is a low cost high production milling machine built to ISI standard. The machine is driven by V belt and is constricted rigidly so as to avoid vibrations. The column and table are made of graded castings, ground and scraped where necessary. Spindle is of high carbon high chromium steel, hardened and ground to maintain the accuracy. Specifications are: working surface - 500 x 180 mm; number of T slots - 3; width of T slots - 12 mm; pitch of T slots - 54 mm; maximum distance from spindle center to table - 250 mm; spindle center to underside of over support - 80 mm; longitudinal movement of the table by lever screw - 225 mm; cross movement of the table by screw - 125 mm; vertical movement of the table by screw - 250 mm; number of spindle speeds available - 8; range of spindle speeds - 150, 200, 275, 375, 600, 800, 1,100 and 1,425 RPM; spindle taper ISO 30; main drive electric motor - 1 HP. 1440 RPM, 440 V, 3 phase; and floor space required: 450 x 600 mm.
