Edge Milling Machine, 3-Axis

Precitec offers 3-axis Moving Column Milling/Boring Machine, specially designed for primarily edge milling operations of fabrication shops. It can also be easily used for a number of applications like milling, profile milling, drilling, boring, etc., of thick long slabs and similar jobs. It can also be used for aluminium bus bar machining, rail machining and other similar applications. The company can provide machines with option of 1 or 2 milling heads. With little investment for 2nd head the machine’s productivity almost doubles. The machines can be provided with required clamping, job loading, unloading, handling solution to meet customer requirement. It enables high speed milling at 300 to 1000 mm/min, and high material removal rates up to 750 cc/min on mild steel. CNC version or with DRO can be provided, and used as a long stroke 3-axis milling machine. Salient features: base, column, slides and carriage are made out of high grade alloy cast iron; guide rails ball type runner blocks; ball screw and nut are used for precise control of movement of 'x' axis carriage; the drive for 'x' axis, 'y' axis and 'z' axis is from inverter controlled infinitely variable speed AC motor and reduction gearbox (optional – servo motor with drive); an indexing device to tilt the milling head to required angular position; the spindle is supported in a quill by two precision taper roller bearing in front and one cylindrical roller bearing at rear; both coarse or fine feed movements of quill and its locking once adjusted is provided; infinitely variable spindle speed, full spindle power from 160-800 RPM; centralised lubrication is provided for lubrication, ball screw and nut, feed screw and nut, guideways for ram and column; well planned hydraulic clamping system for all slide movements except those in use is provided; automatic cycle control with PLC (optional – CNC machines with 3- or 4-axis); electrical cabinet and hydraulics are located at convenient positions; and custom built completely tooled up system including job loading and unloading to suit particular job or family of jobs supplied on request.
