Converted Plano Miller With Milling, Boring & Facing Capabilities

Shenoy Engineering, a Bangalore based metal cutting SPM manufacturer, has developed an unique ram type milling head, which adds plano milling, boring, facing and ID grooving capabilities to a converted plano miller. A converted plano-miller, thus becomes a multi-utility, highly productive machine. This machine, manufactured against an export order, has a 3 axes VFD enabled feed system. The extremely rigid ram type milling head is capable of performing heavy and accurate material removal in plano milling mode. Ram type milling head, with its 600 mm automatic vertical stroke, in combination with a detachable boring and facing head, permits doing deep and large bores very accurately. The same combination permits grooving and facing operations along the bore. The tenons and the drive arbor provide drive to the boring and facing head in boring mode. Hydraulically operated axial feed mechanism of the boring and facing head enables an accurate and fast facing operation. Unique taper jib mechanism avoids play and provides very high level of rigidity and accuracy to the ram movement of milling head and to the axial movement of the facing head. All male sliding surfaces are with case hardened and the female sliding surfaces are lined with Turcite for high wear-resistance. An efficient lubrication system ensures resistance-free movement of the sliding surfaces.
