In folding process a sheet is first positioned against locators, and the top clamp beam housing top tool clamps the sheet. The folding beam then swings and folds the sheet to the designed angle. Other end of the sheet remains on table and does not get lifted as in a press brake. This makes the folding machine ideally suited for long sheet in which edges are to be folded. Prepainted and polished sheets can be folded without scratch marks. Folding angle can be easily set and any angle from 1800 to 300 (included angle) can be folded. Hemming operation also can be done. Folding machines are available in various models. Simple folding machine with manual loading is the basic model. Various models are available with 3 axes to 6 axes folding machines. Fully automatic version is also available with up and down folding system, sheet rotation system and automatic sheet loading and unloading with sheet positioning system.
