Vertical Boring-Cum-Turning Machine

Guru Nanak Engineering Works (Regd), an ISO-9001-2000 certified firm, has introduced “Karam” vertical boring-cum-turning machine. Initially 5 different models have been launched. Machines with turning diameter capacities of 1100 and 1300 mm come in single column whereas the other 3 models having turning diameter capacities 1600, 2200 and 3200 mm are of double columns. Working height of the machine ranges from 600 to 2000 mm. The geometrical accuracy of the machines is maintained strictly as per Dr Schlesinger’s Acceptance Test Chart. The castings of machine bed, rotary table, columns and cross rail, etc., are of very rigid construction made with the proportionate addition of steel and other alloys to achieve the desired strength and durability. Variable frequency drive (AC drive) is used with main motor drive for the rotary table of the machine. Gearbox for auto-feed ram head both vertical and horizontal is provided. Alloy steel duly hardened gears are used in the machine. Phosphorus bronze nuts are used for lead screws. For smooth and anti-friction movement, 2.5 mm thick turcite lining is used on ram/saddle. Forced lubrication with a motorised lubrication pump is provided for the main rotary table and independent lubrication pumps are provided for the ram/saddle and cross rail to ensure proper lubrication. Precision bearings and gunmetal guideways combination in the bed/table are provided to withstand radial and vertical loads. A CNC version of the machine can also be offered as per requirement. The firm also manufactures high precision horizontal boring machines both table type as well as floor type.
