Universal Quick Change Chucks

SMS offers a universal quick change chuck that permits rapid change of tools for drilling, reaming, tapping, counterboring, etc, in one setup without the machine being stopped. It is particularly suitable for sequence machining on jobs. The chuck can be used vertically as well as horizontally on machines such as radial drilling, lathe, turret, and boring. It takes in a floating reamer adaptor equipped with radial parallel floatwhich ensures reaming to precision limits with a good surface finish. It also takes in a tapping adaptor equipped with length compensation features acting on compression and expansion. This is suitable for receiving tap adaptor incorporating a sensitive ball clutch thereby facilitating safe tapping of even blind holes without tap breakage. The tap adaptor is equipped with a factory-set ball clutch. All adaptors are provided with safety rings. The chuck is supplied with MT or ISO or with any shank to suit the requirements.
