Speed Guides

Amcats offers Speed Guides. Winner Bearings’ aptly named Speed Guide technology has been designed considering the industry requirements for high speed precision guides that are fast to get and don’t punch a hole in the customer’s pocket. This new technology has provided a way for customers to perceive newer applications and improve on the cost and productivity of existing applications. Till now, the development of linear bearings has been in the direction of improving on precision. Now, with Speed Guide technology, other facets of development have been touched viz. High speed, reduced assembly time, simple construction, etc.

Speed Guides employs rollers for movement. These rollers are ball rotating angular contact rollers. So they have the load bearing capacity as well as the ability to reach the speed up to 10m/s unlike normal linear guides which have speed up to 3m/s. Even at that high speed, the noise in Speed Guides is lesser. It is easy to increase the load capacity of the guide by simply adding more rollers to the block. These track rollers are good for axial as well as centrifugal load. The outer ring of the bearing has the gothic arch groove for a good contact. Winner’s patented Eccentric Nut has been incorporated for easy adjustment of clearance. Radial Clearance of up to 0 µm can be achieved. Speed guides guarantee precision of ±5 µm/3000mm.

Speed guides are of two types viz, SG and OSG where OSG is the Open type guide similar to a normal LM guide. SG type is better for lateral installation while OSG is better for high speed system with a long stroke. The rails are simple in construction and the block rollers are in contact with standard indexing shaft, which is a high carbon chromium steel shaft. The rail can either have Chrome plated shaft or Stainless steel shaft. The guide is made with aluminum base and high carbon chromium steel thus resulting in a lightweight system as compared to heavy carbon steel guides.

What make our Speed Guide low in cost is the production technology deployed and its innovative simple precision design. Low cost precision grinding is done and the entire process of manufacturing speed guides doesn’t require very expensive equipment as compared to the normal LM guide. Chrome plating has made the material corrosion proof while in normal guides require high cost stainless steel for having corrosion resistance. Adding to that is the long delivery period of stainless steel guides.
