Metallic Scale

Electronica Mechatronic Systems has started manufacturing metallic linear scales in India in collaboration with an Italian company. These metallic scales use etched stainless steel tape in place of glass. Thus these scales are highly shock proof and have no problem of breaking the glass. The aluminium extrusion is developed specially to have two rubber lips to give high protection against dust and coolant. The extrusion also has dovetail section on one side so the metallic scale can be easily mounted on machine tools using an aluminium rail as guide support. Due to this unique arrangement the scale can be easily removed during maintenance and re-fitted without any problem of re-alignment. The metallic scale comes in single extrusion up to 5 metres and is most suitable for machine tools with traverse more than 1.5 metres.
