Diaphragm Chucks & Internal Grinding Spindle

Modern Precision Tools Pvt Ltd manufactures Diaphragm chucks which are highly production oriented work holding devices, and utilise the natural strength of spring action of steel to achieve chucking pressure on the periphery of the work. Jobs like bearing races, bushes, auto part and industrial components are most suitable for diaphragm chucking. Since no moving part is used, clamping forces are uniform and help attain high degree of concentricity, repeatability and accuracy. Loading/unloading is faster. Diaphragm chucking is mainly used for secondary operations like grinding, boring and facing, etc. The outer diameter and one face of the work piece must be ground to get satisfactory results. These chucks are made of special alloy steel and are available from Ø 10 mm holding to Ø 150 mm. Depending upon the configuration of the component, special diaphragm chucks can also be supplied on request. The Internal Grinding Spindle contains two sets of carefully selected super precision angular contactor bearings on either side of the shaft. The spindle is dynamically balanced. The shaft is pre-loaded suitably to ensure intimate contact of the balls with bearing raceways under all operative conditions. Expansion differences are compensated and the normal wear in the bearings is taken up automatically. Each bearing is sealed in for life with super quality grease. The sealed construction provides highly effective protection against intrusion of coolant and other foreign matter. This assures an optimum service life with maximum spindle rigidity. These spindles are ideally suitable for internal grinding both for production as well as tool room operations. These are used successfully wherever high grinding capacities, high dimensional accuracies and high surface qualities are required.
