Indexers make use of the high precision birth coupling with a combination of nickel/bronze worm wheel and a hardened steel worm screw to ensure an indexing repeatability of ?2 secs. Minimum increment of 1 degree or 5 degrees is available as per application. The table diameter range is 250 mm to 800 mm. These indexers are most suitable on vertical machining centres. They help machining of components in one set up. The indexers are also used to mount fixture plates which are supported on the free end to ensure clamping rigidity. This can help in mass production of small intricate components. They can be integrated into the machining centre directly if a 4th axis is available on the machine. Or, a separate single axis CNC controller can be provided which can be interfaced to the machine tools through M code.
