Suhner India Pvt Ltd offers a new Pencil Grinder, Model LSA77-XT – powerful, smooth running, and quiet. These three properties do not have to be mutually exclusive, as demonstrated by this product. Available in the same sizes as the tried and tested LSA 80 and LSA 81 mini straight grinders the LSA77-XT features a new, more powerful multi-disc motor, a new integrated sound absorbing system, a flexible bearing – and as the final touch a new fast attachment system. A longer motor, an optimised motor geometry, a flow optimised valve, and an inlet system all go into extracting even greater power out of air. The vibrations from the LSA77-XT are reduced with an elastic bearing. The motor and spindle unit is installed in the tool case between O rings. The sound emissions from small pneumatic straight grinders consist above all of two components: exhaust air noise and structure borne noise. Only by reducing both of these components can a perceptible improvement achieved. This is where the flexible bearing comes in, preventing the transmission of vibrations from the motor/spindle to the tool case. A different bearing concept and a motor positioned in the front of the case generates enough space in the rear for an integrated sound absorber. This targets above all the main frequency (speed x slide number) and supplements the tried and tested sound absorber in the exhaust air hose. Unlike sound absorbers of porous material, e.g. the familiar sintered designs, this sound absorber does not clog from oil deposits. A new feature facilitates attachment changes with just the one Allen key. The attachment shaft is clamped at right angles to the tool axis without any risk of damage. This saves time and money.
