Plano Milling Attachment

This attachment developed for addition to the conventional planers makes use of milling cutter, viz, T-max that has changeable and multipoint cutting tips affixed to it. This system, over a period of time and by effecting a lot of research and development activities, has been finalised keeping in view the economic considerations by going for this attachment. With the addition of this attachment, savings achieved are so high that a pay back period less then a year works out. While putting on the attachment, the machine/planer table speed is fixed to a predetermined value. This, in turn, is achieved with the aid of a reduction gearbox that is attached to the main shaft of the machine. The planer tool post is replaced by a milling head attachment of fabricated box construction using taper roller bearings and cutter shaft to which is attached the T-max cutter. Surface finish with milling cutters is far better as compared to that achieved by single point tool. Machining time and hence costs are drastically curtailed.
