Long Reach Right Angle Milling Head

Motor frames, shells, etc, involve certain right angle machining at a distance from the machine spindle. The long reach right angle attachment is specially designed to do such critical machining operations. It consists of a single piece cast body, a pair of spiral bevel gears, a spindle and a shaft. The shaft is bearing-supported in the housing. At its front end, a bevel gear is mounted which in turn drives another bevel gear mounted onto the spindle back. Input and output ratio is generally 1:1. Spindle taper can be BT/ ISO/MT. Perpendicularity of the mounting flange with the spindle is guaranteed within 0.05 mm on the entire length of 1 metre. A pair of taper roller bearings rigidly support the spindle in the front. After the drive bevel gear, an angular contact bearing supports the spindle on the back. A pair of deep groove ball bearing in the flange side and another matched pair of angular contact bearings at the spindle side support the main drive shaft inside the housing. The well designed bearing system ensures proper locational support as well as preloading. An oil bath with due care for preventing oil leakage is provided for the bevel gears and all the bearings of the attachment. The spindle, shaft, and gears are made of EN-353 case hardening steel, case hardened and ground.
