Variable Rake Hydraulic Shears

Metfab offers Trimans brand hydraulic shears with facility of varying the rake angle between blades which helps cut a range of sheet thicknesses and materials with minimum distortions. Sheets of thickness higher than nominal capacity can be cut to shorter lengths at maximum rake angle. The rake angle of shearing blade can be adjusted by pre-selection from operator console panel. The blade clearance is easily adjusted by levers on side and is calibrated directly in terms of thicknesses for different materi- als to enable adjustment without feeler gauges. With cumbersome process of loosening table-adjusting clearance with feeler gaug- es, the tightening table in most mechanical shear blade clearance adjustment is neglected resulting in poor blade and machine life. The hydraulic hold downs are located very close to the blade providing positive gripping on narrow strips and preventing sheet slippage for longer life of blades. The four-edged HCHCr blades can be easily reground and have a long life. Shear design enables o ram to move at 1-1.5 inclination so that cut strips are not trapped between backgauge and the bottom blade and to avoid the non-cutting edges of the blade from rubbing against the sheet. The synchronised hydraulic cylinders are vertically guided by means of pre-loaded rollers. System design incorporates overload protection, instant stoppage, stroke length adjustment, etc. The machines do not need to be lubricated. These variable rake hy- draulic shears are available from 4 mm to 25 mm thickness in working lengths 1,500 mm, 2,000 mm, 2,500 mm, 3,000 mm and 4,000 mm. Optional features and accessories available include NC back- gauge, rear sheet support, anti-twist device for narrow strips, automatic rake angle and blade gap setting, NC stacker, NC front feeder, etc.
