Furthermore, thanks to its modular concept the AKM facilitates straightforward co-engineered modifications such as special windings, shafts, and mechanical/electrical interfacing to meet our customers' exact requirements. The high efficiency and low cogging characteristics of AKM permanent magnet motors ensure smooth dynamic performance with precise control and reduced energy for demanding motion applications across all areas of industry. This motor boasts exceptional torque-density characteristics, producing up to 47% more shaft power – allowing a reduction in motor and drive size as well as a more compact installation - with the potential for overall cost savings. The AKM permanent magnet motor perfectly suits Kollmorgen’s AKD, S300 and S700 servo drives and, for ease of commissioning, is plug-and-play matched with the AKD drive – eliminating the need for drive parameter set-up and servo loop tuning in most applications.
