Novatek Electro (India) Pvt Ltd offers a universal single-phase induction electric Motor Protection Unit with soft start functions, Model UBZ-115 (5.5 kW). This is a microprocessor unit that provides protection to single-phase induction electric motors with power up to 5.5 kW (25 A). The UBZ-115 unit is designed to provide permanent control of mains voltage parameters and current effective value, which is consumed by the 220 V/50 Hz motor. In the UBZ-115 provides an external input from water level sensor for remote start or stop the engine, and feature "soft start" of the engine up to 5 seconds. For each separate type of fault, the unit allows to enable or disable an automatic reset (AR) of the motor. Before engaging the UBZ-115 unit and the motor, controlled by it, it is strongly recommended that one should learn the information from the operation manual. Failure to meet this requirement may cause serious injury of staff and damage to the equipment. Operating principle: while operating, UBZ-115 performs permanent measuring and control of mains voltage and the current, consumed by the motor; on the basis of the received results the heat model of the motor is determined. On parameters’ exceeding the allowable limits, UBZ-115 shuts down the motor and starts it again (after AR time), provided that the parameters returned to their normal value and AR enabled. UBZ-115 does not need any additional power supply – the control voltage is at the same time the supply voltage. It can operate in two modes – “manual” and “automatic”.
UBZ-115 provides protection in the following situations:

• When the mains voltage is of poor quality
• Mechanical overloads of the motor (voltage)
• When motor torque is lost ("dry stroke")
• Delayed start or rotor lock-up
• Heat overload (heat model of the motor).
