Variable Speed Drive

The Emotron FDU variable speed drive is specially developed for regulating flow and pressure. It continuously adapts motor speed to the level required, minimizing energy consumption and wear. A unique monitoring functionality protects the process from damage and unplanned downtime. Applications: pumps, fans, compressors and blowers. Main features: soft starts minimize start currents and linear stops prevent water hammer; energy saving function pauses the motor when it is not needed to be run to keep up pressure; efficiency is increased by setting the pump to run at full speed at certain intervals to rinse out sludge; one Emotron FDU can control up to seven units without external control systems; operation parameters can be set in process units, for example m³/min and bar; removable control panel with own memory means it is easy to transfer or copy settings; and robust IP54 steel construction offers cost-efficient installation close to the application. Emotron FDU 2.0 variable speed drives are available in the following range: rated power – 0.75-1,500 kW; supply voltage – 380-690 V, 3-phase; rated current – 2.5-1,500 A; protection class – IP54; and approvals – global standards. The Swedish company Emotron develops solutions for protecting and controlling machines and processes driven by electric motors.
