The Emotron MSF softstarter offers optimised start and stop sequences, advanced braking techniques and built-in monitor functionality. Torque control reduces start currents by up to 30% more than conventional soft starters. Applications: pumps, crushers, fans, mills, compressors, mixers, blowers, and saws. Main features: efficient torque control ensures an ultra-smooth starts with constant acceleration; torque boost ca be used to overcome initial peak loads when starting, for example, a loaded crusher; linear stops prevent water hammer in pump applications; built-in braking functionality ensures quick and safe stops of mills and saws without mechanical brakes; built-in shaft power monitor detects under- and overload across the entire load range; the rotating direction of a fan can be controlled without an external PLC; start and stop levels of a pump can be controlled via an analogue sensor connected to the softstarter. Emotron MSF 2.0 softstarters are available in the following range: supply voltage – 200-690 V, 3-phase; rated current – 17-1,650 A; rated power – 7.5-1,600 kW; protection class – IP20, NEMA 1 (up to 960 A), IP00, NEMA 0 (up to 1,650 A); and approvals – global standards.
