Stepper motor drive

Vishal Electromag Industries has introduced state-of-the-art technology for stepper motor drives. Interfacing of microprocessor or master controllers (may be a PC or PLC) in multi axis positioning systems to stepper motors is easier by using these stepper motor drives. It is based on the principle of current pulse width modulation for switching of currents through windings of the stepper motor. Features: low cost, compact design; can drive unipolar/bipolar stepper motor; mains 230 V AC 50 Hz operated; built-in DC power supply and stepper motor drive logic generation; frequency ranger approx 40 to 900 pps (other frequency available on request); can handle max current up to 1.6 A/phase; max power handling capacity is 50 W; TTL compatible control signals; EMI/RFI filter surge suppressor for safe operation of the unit; and suitable for low torque, low speed applications. The drive has two operating modes, each one selected by a front panel selector witch. The manual mode can control the stepper motor in terms of Direction, Start/Stop and precise smooth speed control through the ten turn potentiometer; the auto mode accepts Direction, Clock for speed control, motor winding energize/de-energize when motor is not in motion, and full step/half step control inputs for motor operation. Applications: X-Y co-ordinate tables, indexing tables, cut-to-length applications, valve controls, packaging systems, label printing and cutting, remote handling in SPMs, etc.
